Sunshine Lemme
Sunshine Lemme,
MS, Proprietor of Long Island Emergency
Sunshine Lemme, a tall man with a cowboy hat who came to Long Island from California two decades ago, just finished his Masters Degree in Emergency Management, magna cum laude, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY.

Sunshine, who grew up in Fontana, CA, discovered his passion for the many facets of emergencies rather late. Coming from a family of highly regarded engineers and inventors (the family has many patents), he felt he never really fit in.
Sunshine Lemme has been an Emergency Responder since 1991, first as an Emergency Medical Technician, then as a Firefighter and HazMat Technician, certifications he still holds along with several rescue certificates. He also teaches several CPR/AED Courses every year for the Montauk Fire Department where he volunteers and was named "Firefighter of the Year 2002".

Mr. Lemme began doing BCP in 1999 and found a new career that he loves, as it integrates several of his interests, including computers, emergency response, and writing with his talents for organization and arrangement. He completed FEMA’s Professional Development Series of courses and holds many other certificates.

Mr. Lemme has worked as a webmaster since 1995 when he created the first online art gallery in the Hamptons. He has published in Dan's Papers, the Montauk Sun and the East Hampton Independent in diverse subjects including computers, the peopling of the American continent, travel, and, of course, emergency preparedness.

The dignified six foot six emergency manager has been happily married to Ingrid Lemme, the host of the American Dream® show for nine years. They have two adult children.
